I have been training dogs for other people and for sale since 1979. I started out on a large estate in North Yorkshire as a gamekeeper, and learnt about training a large variety of dogs from two very experienced retired keepers. They were both excellent trainers, one very soft, the other much more a disciplinarian. This variety in techniques stood me in good stead, and allowed me to identify different types of temperament, and develop a host of strategies for training them.
